Member information
Information contained in our member listings has been compiled with care from information provided by members at the time of joining the scheme, when updating their information about their circumstances, and as the result of credit and other checks undertaken. It is displayed with the consent of tenants. Other than this, we do not warrant the information to be correct in every detail, although the guarantees insurance cover afforded landlords who register a tenancy entered into by a member of the scheme (see below) apply irrespective.

Tenants who are members of the Tenant Guarantee Scheme, and landlords with tenants who are members, are advised to inform us immediately of changes in their circumstances affecting their financial standing and/or ability to fulfil obligations set out in tenancy or other agreements.

Membership of the Tenant Guarantee Scheme can be verified by searching for a member using the unique membership number provided to each member. Only members are listed. Searches that do not bring up member details indicate that the number is invalid and cannot be used by a landlord to obtain cover.

All members are covered by the Tenant Guarantee Scheme rental guarantee and insurance. To activate this cover, which is assigned automatically by tenants to their landlords, landlords must verify the tenant’s membership of the scheme by searching our database using the unique membership number provided by the tenant. Following this the landlord must physically confirm the identity of the tenant by inspection of the photograph contained within member listings and of appropriate documents showing the tenant’s previous address (a utility bill or bank statement) and also showing the tenant’s photograph (a passport or picture driving licence). Finally the landlord must register his or her interest with this website, providing and the address of the rental property in respect of which an interest is being registered.
